What is the Emergency Fund used for?
Our $3,000 fund is used for urgent pet emergencies assessed and referred to an in-person clinic by one of our vets. It can be used for one of your pets yearly in an emergency in a life or death situation.
How do I know if I have an emergency to access funds?
If you are concerned that something is wrong with one of your covered pets, start chatting with one of our licensed vets through our mobile app. Once your pet’s state is assessed, the vet will provide a determination of whether they deem it an emergency. An emergency is when your pet needs to go urgently to an in-person clinic right away. You will have a deadline of 4 hours to get to the clinic.
Where am I covered in an emergency?
The fund can be used within the US or when traveling internationally. Please note that if you choose to use it when traveling, the invoice will be paid to the vet clinic in US dollar currency.
How is payment provided to the vet clinic?
After your pet is referred to a vet clinic by one of our professionals, you will need to get care for your pet within 4 hours. Once your pet is admitted and the invoice is ready, the clinic will need to contact our support line and send the invoice for review. We will cover your vet bill for expenses related to the emergency.
Is there a waiting period?
Yes, there is a 14-day account creation waiting period before you can access your emergency funds. Our mobile app’s home page will have the date you can use your funds in an emergency. Emergencies that occur during the waiting period are not covered.
